karate
Karate was the first sport I ever truly enjoyed. My interest began when I was younger and I eventually worked my way up to becoming a 2nd degree Blackbelt. I was trained in Wado Ryu Karate, which is a defensive form of martial arts. I don't often get to practice, but the moves and fundamentals have stuck with me, and if the need arose I feel certain I could defend myself or others.
RUNES FOR KARATE
PROTECTION
Karate is a great way to learn ways of using your body to help defend yourself or others. Wado Ryu not only emphasizes striking motions, but also using your opponents momentum against themselves with throwing techniques.
LEADERSHIP
When learning martial arts, you have a responsibility to protect those who cannot defend themselves. Hold yourself to a higher standard, some of the moves take respect and perseverance to master the technique.
HONOR
Wado Ryu means the "way of harmony," not to be taken as pacifism, but more so the acknowledgement that yielding may be more effective than aggression.
